Journey of Hope
The Journey of Hope project funded by Spreeha US, a voluntary organization based in Seattle, aims to break the cycle of poverty by providing healthcare, education and skills training to underprivileged individuals in the Rayer Bazar Community of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
In partnership with Spreeha Bangladesh since the year of 2013, the project uses a holistic approach to ending poverty and has successfully been able to impact 49,705 lives as of May, 2017.
With a powerful 4277 lives reached out to, Spreeha Bangladesh successfully completed the “Babu Barta” project funded by the Baby Basics Bangladesh Program under the US State Department and Dnet. “Babu Barta”, the very first book for pregnant and new mothers in Bangla is designed to cater especially to low-income communities suffering from a severe lack of knowledge on prenatal and postnatal healthcare.
In its 1.5 year period from January 2015 to July 2016, Spreeha Bangladesh community officers in the Rayer Bazar and surrounding areas conducted 36 clubs each having 14 sessions including mothers, to be mothers and fathers alike. A total of 542 to be mothers with their husbands directly engaged in these interactive sessions thus helping the whole family learn how to respond efficiently to the needs of pregnancy and early motherhood.
Sneho Mobile Health
With use of technology, innovation and a unique solution, Sneho Mobile Health bridges the gap existing between isolated rural communities and effective healthcare. The project, a result of the collaboration between partnering entities ZANALA Bangladesh Ltd., ZANALA Systems Ltd., and Spreeha Bangladesh Foundation, has the objective of making healthcare accessible to every individual regardless of how far the location.
